The Ribbon Rose Studio's History

For many  years, whilst I worked in office jobs, all I wanted was to be creative at my sewing machine.  Thankfully my dream came true!  And now here I am lucky enough to be fulfilling that dream.

My gran taught me to sew at the age of 5 and from there I attended many different courses that have both challenged and excited me.

Whilst I was an exchange student in Japan, at the age of 15, I had the opportunity to learn to make teddy bears - rather random - but who would have thought that it would lead me off onto a whole new journey once I moved to the UK from New Zealand.

During my maternity leave with my second daughter, I took the plunge and created a Facebook page and started advertising through various groups.  My first order came in, and then another, and another... and the rest is history!

I honestly do feel incredibly grateful that my lovely customers entrust their treasured items in my care, allowing me to be creative by making something special and personal for them.  Not only does it bring them joy when they receive their finished item but it also fulfils something in me that can only be done whilst sitting at my sewing machine or with a needle and thread in my hand.

I count my blessings everyday.
